I can hardly believe that Clay is 3 years old. It seems like just yesterday I was capturing Val’s maternity photos when she was pregnant with him. Despite it being almost 90 degrees outside, we had gorgeous evening light for their family session.
Kids between the ages of 1-3 often have a hard time feeling comfortable doing photos around someone that is virtually a stranger. I always try to engage the kids and find topics of interests to them. We play games to make the evening fun and lighten the load. Or how about 20 minutes in, when the kids are over looking at the camera? That’s when we let loose and really have some fun.
I always remember life isn’t perfect and imperfection is beautiful! It’s not necessarily about the perfect posed photos. It’s about showing the love and bond between the family and I really think that came out during their session. Enjoy!
