Sometimes I just have to pinch myself when it comes to how lucky I am with finding the most amazing couples! Amy and Matt had their wedding ceremony at the gorgeous Fort Snelling Chapel. Matt is a fighter pilot for the United States Air Force and I felt so blessed to capture this amazing military wedding. Thank you for your service Matt! In addition to starting their life together as husband and wife, they also are starting out a new life together in Japan. Matt and Amy were stationed there just a few weeks after their big day in January 2015. We spent the majority of their wedding day taking photos at their gorgeous wedding reception location the Christos Union Depot in St. Paul. It was such a beautiful canvas for their photos.
I have to also mention that I was practically drooling over Amy’s dress!!! I kid you not, I had a dream just a few weeks before how I had wished I could photograph a bride in a 3/4 sleeve lace dress and then when I show up to Amy’s hotel room I about died and gone to heaven. She of course, looked absolutely stunning in it! Flutter Boutique in Minneapolis did an impeccable job of customizing this gorgeous Leanne Marshall’s Heloise dress for Amy. Matt and three of his groomsmen wore their air force mess dress, which is navy with all sorts of bells and whistles that I don’t really understand. But they looked sharp! All the other groomsmen wore Michael Kors suits.
My favorite moment of the day was after Matt & Amy were pronounced husband and wife and they walked (and kissed!) under the saber arch. Seriously, such a cool moment (my first time experiencing it) and such a great representation of what the military stands for. I couldn’t have asked for a more sweeter couple and I wish you all the best on your new adventure together in life!
